The Agricultural Age praises the Marsh field co operatives project in Wood county. A stock company owns 1,600 acres, with part cleared for crops and part a forest reserve. The plan argues centralized management and shared profits can cut costs and raise farm product returns.
Supt Cary announces the Wisconsin Bird-Study bulletin a neatly printed, illustrated guide for school children. The bulletin lists arrival dates for local birds as observed by Mrs. W H Upham including the American goldfinch early May and Baltimore oriole rare entries, with several species noted for May and June.
Miss M C Lueckenbach will close her local millinery business in about two weeks and open a department in the Dodge to Davis store in Sparta Wis. She has run the shop here for fourteen years earning a large trade and the esteem of the community. Her departure is widely regretted by friends and customers.
An effort will secure a flying machine as a fair attraction this fall. A company with a capable machine may be induced to participate, promising daily trips during the fair. The craft would ascend to height, soar briefly, then return to the start, aiming to be one of the best features offered.
The sixth annual Wood County Teachers Association meeting takes place in the city’s high school assembly room on Saturday March 3 with notable educators including Prof C E Patter of Milwaukee Normal among speakers. Prof Patter, chair of the state committee on language work, will discuss language education and a full program features sessions for general, graded and high school sections, several demonstrations, and a special train from Grand Rapids for southern county teachers.

Inadvertently named as an alderman candidate, John Seubert, assistant cashier of the First National Bank, faces persistent encouragement from friends to run in the third ward. Supporters tout his integrity and public spirit, urging a candidacy free of shysteri politics and reflecting the city’s need for honest leadership.
Next Lecture March 8 at the city hall features John W. Bengough cartoonist and lecturer. He is described as nationally renowned and unexcelled as an entertainer, artist, and speaker. Robert Barr lauds Bengough’s wonderful and spirited productions with the pen.
