Narrow escape as lightning strikes Marshfield farm home
In Marshfield on the Richfield line a lightning bolt struck a corner bedroom of F. H. Burdick’s farm house where a swinging bed near a clothes line sheltered a father, two boys, and four others. Drowned Horse and Narrow Escape After Driver Falls In
A farmer near Marshfield borrowed a horse to reach Marshfield. While crossing a bridge the horse reared and backed toward a log pond, pulling the driver in. The horse sank and drowned, while the man fought to save himself, clinging to the harness until he reached shore.
