Class Day Exercises at Marshfield High School
The graduating class of 1902 held a class day at the opera house with a lively program. A farce Creatures of Impulse opened the evening, followed by kindergarten children in Japanese costumes and a notable class poem by Miss Arlie Hinman. The annual Harvard class day sketch and a brain matter demonstration by Clifford Heath closed a proud, well produced program.

Machinery Parade Delivers Farm Gear in Milwaukee District
The Milwaukee Harvester Co and Seehafer & Krier staged a grand special delivery day with a street parade along Central avenue attended by thousands. A morning sale at Seehafer & Krier’s depot preceded a two o clock parade featuring twine binders mowers plows and wagons decorated with flags. Math Schlig and Geo F Halverson led planning while Upham Manufacturing Co and the city bought wagons. Separately the Laona and Northern Railway filed articles of incorporation to build an eight mile timber road in Forest county connecting Laona to the Sao road to aid logging and milling operations. The Milwaukee Sentinel secured exclusive serial rights to The Iron Brigade by Charles King with opening chapters set for July 6 in The Sunday Sentinel. The wreck of the Wisconsin Central limited northbound near Neenah damaged seven freight cars and injured Pullman porter George Lewis along with several Italian workers. Passengers were uninjured and trains were delayed for hours.

Frank Wissink Killed in Tramway Accident at Upham Factory
Frank Wissink a 16 year old cripple and son of Mrs Anna Wissink died from injuries after falling twenty two feet from a tramway at Upham Manufacturing. Theodore Ludwig, 25, blamed for the carelessness. inquest held with jurors named. Ludwig not charged after promising $50 down and $5 monthly to the mother. Funeral at Catholic church. Miss Florence Phillep and pupils gave piano recital at the Sexton residence.

Death of Patrick Powers Ties City To Irish Roots
Patrick Powers died last Friday morning from heart failure at age six years in Marshfield Wisconsin after a life spent farming and local business. He was born in Waterford Ireland and moved with his parents to Plattsburg New York before settling in Marshfield twenty four years ago. He owned a farm northwest of the city before selling it recently. He leaves a wife and six children Estella Utha Mary Nellie David and Mike and a brother David Powers of Hurley Wisconsin. The funeral was held Monday at St John’s Catholic Church with pallbearers from old friends and relatives. Relatives attended from Hurley Kaukauna Appleton Ashland and Fenwood.
