New Ward School Plans Approved for City Building
The school board at city hall approved plans by J H Jeffers & Co for a two story four room New First Ward schoolhouse with basement play rooms. Construction cost estimated between 9000 and 10000 dollars includes heating and plumbing and brick main structure with stone basement. Site options include blocks 13 15 and 43 near H C Biche residence. Heating contract awarded to American Furnace and Heating Co of Bloomington Illinois for Smead heating system. Saturday last, J H Harvey married Nellie Bartle of Dodgeville and they have moved into the Yabnkee building on Central avenue.

John Gorsegner Killed in Wagon Accident Near Chili
Ernest Gorsegner a farmer near Chili died after his team ran away on Central Avenue. The wagon collapsed and heavy wheels crushed his head and jaw, going instantly. His daughter was thrown and bruised but survived. Mourners say he had lived near Chili eighteen years and left a wife and seven children. His remains were shipped to Chili for burial.

Street Fair Dates Set for September 23 26

New Office for R. Connor Co on Central Ave

The two story building with basement will be 32 by 64 feet, of classical design, using St. Louis pressed brick with a stone front. The basement houses the steam heating plant, the first floor stores, and the second floor offices. The project aims to enhance lower Central Ave and spur city growth.

Republicans Nominees Unfold After Fierce Wisconsin Convention
The La Follette faction won control at Madison after a stormy convention, with End defeated for treasurer and Harvey unseated as superintendent. Nominated are La Follette for governor, Davidson lieutenant governor, Houser secretary of state, Sturdevant attorney general, Kempe state treasurer, Cary Supt. of public instruction, Thomas railroad commissioner, and Host insurance commissioner. Harry Tracy Severns, a Pittsville native and outlaw, is reportedly linked to the recent violence. authorities say the pursuit cost $10,000 and will not continue. A wedding of Emma Ehom and Otto Hellermann was held at Immanuel’s Lutheran church, with the couple planning a Norfolk Nebraska visit and then a shared future at home. Travel Class ladies held a Yellow River picnic and discussed building a class club house.
