Marshfield's rise rooted in timber and Upham era fire

Marshfield Wisconsin, a 7 009 population city, grew from timber wealth and the Upham plant era. The 1887 fire halted progress but rebuilding with brick blocks and a strong manufacturing base revived the city. Today Upham, a stave plant, grist mills, foundry, and dairy operations drive the economy. The new city hall, schools, hotels, and a growing population further cement Marshfield as a regional manufacturing and agricultural hub.
