Victory for Firemen in Park Contested Hall Meet
A close, weather marred game between Elk and Fire Department teams drew a good crowd at the park on the afternoon of the 4th. Showers and a drizzle kept play brisk and scrappy with heavy hitting, producing a larger score than usual. Firemen earned praise for event setup and grounds care. The Cosmopolitan Amusement Co. shows will arrive Sunday with tents set along Central avenue. A Marshfield Brewing Co. office was burglarized, $17 stolen from an unlocked safe.
