Waterworks Completed and Tour Highlights New Pump House

Supt. Fritchman invites council members and citizens to tour the new Waterworks at the south end of the avenue. Capt. J. Steiger guided visitors through engine, boiler, pump rooms and the well as a large 150 horsepower engine operated smoothly. Two large boilers supply lighting and power, with Worthington and Smedley pumps handlingFire and domestic water, while the 128 foot water tower stands completed. test anticipated around next week with praise for the facilities and pure water.

Eleven Bids Opened for Yellow River Bridge Construction

The County Board of Supervisors committee met at the Fremont House to open bids for a bridge across One Yellow River on the Lincoln Rock town line. Eleven bids were received, with projected cost and scope to require county and town collaboration under Chapter 187, laws of 1885.

Uncle Tim Crane Dies in Oshkosh Wisconsin

Uncle Tim Crane a veteran Wisconsin lumberman died at his Oshkosh home last Friday January 18. Born 1818 in Maine, he moved to Oshkosh in 1856 and partnered in lumbering firms until his death. He served as senior partner at T. H. Deane & Co and held ties to several bridge and iron works firms. He left a widow, two daughters, and two brothers. He was a prominent Mason and known for his long career in Wisconsin’s logging and bridge industries.
