Marshfield Dairy Reform Drive Gains Steam in 1909
A Holstein breeders meeting in Marshfield sparks a push to pass statewide cattle breeding and tuberculin testing laws. T. F. Vannedom, John P. Hume, and M. Hosterman lead a committee to lobby the legislature, arguing milk industry health hinges on licensing bulls and banishing unsound sires. The movement frames stallion regulation as a model for cattle.
