John W. DeGroff, born January 1 1643 in Melt New York, died suddenly yesterday after a brief illness of stomach trouble. A Civil War veteran, he edited and later owned the Marshfield Times, and leaves a widow two sons and a daughter. His wish to be buried at Alm near the Mississippi will be honored with services at his home and a Wisconsin Central train departure at 2:58 AM Monday.

No Escape This Time in Marshfield Prisoner Capture
