Alderman A L MacFarlane city sealer tested eighteen large scales last Friday. Of the lot all but two were perfect. one scale was unused, another slightly inaccurate and corrected. Several businesses reported perfect or exceptionally accurate scales, including Ex Algerman R J Strauss, Spatz Cereal Co, H Ebbe Co, Marshfield Brewing Co, and others. The probe praised the overall city record and hoped for similar results with small scales.

Death of Local Civilian Aged 32 Triggers Funeral
Miss M C Lueckenbach and her brother F W Lueckenbach traveled to Menasha to attend the funeral of their aged father who died the prior Tuesday after a gradual decline. The Catholic church in Menasha hosted the Thursday forenoon service at nine o'clock. A large group of relatives and friends attended. Deceased was well known in the area and had visited his children here in the past, leaving behind many friends. He was 32 years old at his death.

Man guilty of selling undersized apples at overcharge
Firminger from Missouri was arrested in Chippewa Falls on a complaint by the city sealer of weights and measures. He sold apples by the bushel at 90 cents though the bushel was eight pounds light.
