Caribou Hunt on Rootend Lake Roadside Tale
The narrator recounts a strenuous expedition chasing caribou in rugged northern terrain. After weeks of rough travel, and a bear encounter, the party tracks fresh caribou signs through mossy forests, alpine valleys, and boulder-strewn ridges. A bull caribou is finally shot at close range, with a yearling and a larger bull fleeing as the hunter completes the chase.
