Pauline Blodgett to Wed Anson Campbell at St Albans

The marriage of Pauline Florence Blodgett daughter of Mr and Mrs G E Blodgett to Anson J Campbell will take place next Tuesday morning at St Albans Episcopal Church. Rev Graeme Davis will officiate with maid of honor Miss Zoa Blodgett and four bridesmaids from Grafton Hall. Chester Campbell will be best man and ushers include Guy Blodgett H W Whinfield George Nixon and Joseph Thompson. The bridal party will breakfast at 120 Central Avenue after the ceremony.

Two Good Baseball Games at the Fair This Week

Marshfield meets Milladore at 10:50 AM and Nekoosa faces Marshfield Thursday afternoon. Marshfield has won two of three close games with Nekoosa in six weeks and arrives with strong intent. A special train from Nekoosa and Grand Rapids will run for the fair, returning at 11 PM.

Governor McGovern Defends High Taxes in Marshfield Visit

Governor McGovern spoke for about fifty minutes in Marshfield defending high taxes as part of his Wisconsin idea. He argued against Democratic administration and cited tax outcomes in Indiana and New York while noting state boards return more to taxpayers than collected. Frederick Bilgrin Dead at Eighty Eight in City

Frederick Bilgrin longtime McMillan pioneer and resident of this city died Saturday evening at his son Herman’s home on North Central Avenue. He was eighty eight, born September 8 1838 in Germany, came to the United States in 1873 and lived in Dodge county seven years before settling in McMillan. Survived by his widow and two sons Emil of March Rapids and Herman of this city. Funeral at Immanuel’s Lutheran Church with Rev L Th Thom officiating. interment Hillside Cemetery.

Mrs Florentina Reiser Dies at Wood County Asylum

The funeral of Mrs Florentina Reiser, an inmate at the Wood County asylum for the chronic insane, who died after pneumonia, was held Wednesday from George W Upham undertakers. Rev L Th Thom of Emmanuel's Lutheran Church conducted the service. The husband John Reiser of Antigo took charge and arranged the burial at Hillside Cemetery.

Rifle work excellent at Camp Douglas

Captain George Buntzicker, inspector of small arms for the Second Wisconsin National Guard, reports five days of rifle practice at Camp Douglas with 246 competitors and top scores 48 to 50. Corporal Henry Mittlesteadt, from this city, placed eighth in state ranking and contributed to the regimental team. Ideal weather aided scores as Captain Huntzicker and ten officers assisted in scoring.

Scouts Learn to Swim at Waupaca Camp

The Boy Scouts returned from a ten day encampment in Waupaca where almost every attendee who could not swim by arrival learned to swim. Scout Commissioner Graeme Davis Scoutmaster H A Bly and assistants led the group with expenses within the scout council funds and a small balance remaining.

May form joint district discussed by two counties

B E Walters president of the Marathon county board of education writes that a joint meeting of the Wood and Marathon county boards of education will be held near Marshfield to discuss forming a joint school district. Day and Auburndale towns are involved with Maxfield suggested as a convenient location.
