Assessment Retroactive Tax Ruling Affects Davis Lumber Co
The 1898 omitted logs and Tamber property of the Davis Lumber Co challenged before the board of equalization. Attorney General Hicks supports retroactive amendment to include the property, with Judge Riley and Secretary Bailey weighing in on the tax relief for the company under chapter provisions. The matter centers on whether the amendment can apply to past assessments and how it impacts the company’s tax burden.
