SINGERS AT UNION PARK PICNIC SUNDAY

Tie Wood County and Teachers' Training School at Grand Rapids will open for regular work Tuesday August 30. The forty week course certifies graduates to teach three years without examination. Board available at reasonable rates with on campus meals for students. Graduates expected to secure positions as rural schools demand trained teachers. Miss Meta Roehrborn married Rev Albert J Arendt at Princeton Tuesday. Roehrborn, Marshfield bookkeeper at Sexton Bros drug store, will be missed. Groom serves as pastor at Dartford Lutheran Church and they will reside there.

Death of Paul Hater of March Rapids
Paul Hater, a prominent March Rapids farmer and brother of Ex-Mayor Adam Hater, died at 9 p.m. last Saturday after a two week illness. A former lumberman, he settled in March Rapids nearly thirty years ago and ran a large farm considered among the best in the region. He served four years in the Union Army with the Second Missouri Regiment. He was 65 and survived by his wife and thirteen children. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in March Rapids with a long funeral procession.
