Bodies of Kraus and Parmetier recovered from Wisconsin river
The bodies of Ray Kraus and Walter Parmetier were found upriver near Grand Rapids four miles above, within hours of each other after days of search. Kraus, fourth hand at Biron mill, and Parmetier, a machine tender, had been fishing Tuesday morning when the canoe overturned. Local authorities lowered river levels to aid the search, using boats, dynamite, and powerful lights, but the cause remains an apparent drowning with no further clues as of Thursday morning.
