Local notices and ads fill Marshall paper columns
Third page items advertise new goods from Dr Yeeurs New York store and a large Fall selection. Church and club events include Rev McKissey at Presbyterian Church Sunday 27th, 10 AM, with a quarterly collection. Public notices urge timely ads and debt payments, while Harpers Weekly critique and local politics draw strong opinions.

County Democrats Verify 1868 Primary Returns and Purge Votes
The Clark County Democratic Executive Committee met April 17, 1868 at Marshall and, after counting votes for Clerk of the Circuit Court, sheriff, and coroner, purged illegal ballots by township. Adjusted totals favor Dr. Williams for Clerk and Connelly for Sheriff, with Cole deemed the true Clerk nominee and Connelly the Sheriff nominee after reductions.
