An advertisement extols Ch C Slane's Liver Pills as effective for liver conditions and bilious complaints, headaches, and related ailments. It claims superiority in treating ague and fever as a preparatory or follow-up purgative to quinine, presenting the pills as a simple, reliable remedy.
A carved white cedar cane from the Wabash river banks features hundreds of engravings and a perpetual calendar set for July 1876. It includes Confucius, Confederal symbols, Philadelphia laid out, seals of various nations, and a world of depictions from Kansas grasshoppers to a ship at bay. Presented by Mrs. Dr. Anderson of Colbirn Indiana and mounted with silver, the artifact also notes ancestry of the Fath er of the Forest and the Original Colonies.
