John William Werneke six died at Greencastle Indiana from a fractured skull after being struck on East Anderson Street by a car driven by Miss Helen Grant of Casey Illinois. Miss Grant said she was traveling about twenty five miles per hour when the child darted from behind a parked car. She was exonerated of all blame.

Man Killed by Explosion in Casey
George S. Stuebe age 22 of St Louis was fatally injured Monday morning when the gun cotton he carried on his motorcycle exploded in front of Casey grade school on Main Street. He died that evening at Effingham hospital. The youth had been employed with a fireworks company at Danville and was interested in explosives.

At Terre Haute Indiana on September 18 Mrs Allie McCoy 56 was badly hurt when struck on Jackson street near Prairieton road by Harry West 40 of near Darwin. West was jailed on auto intoxication charges and failing to stop and aid. George Middaugh 39 of Terre Haute with West was jailed on intoxication. A motorist held West until police arrived. Mrs McCoy taken home with a lacerated forehead and bruises. not believed serious.
