Returned Scout Keith Miller Tours Europe After Jamboree
Dee Keith Miller son of Mr and Mrs Herman Miller returned from a two month Boy Scouts trip abroad. He attended the National Jamboree at Valley Forge with 55 000 scouts and the International Jubilee near Birmingham England with 80 000 scouts plus 40 000 British Cub Scouts. Red Cross Revises First Aid Textbook and Courses
The American National Red Cross plans a revised First Aid Textbook due mid month for the local chapter. New paperbound editions labeled T5c will be in safety green. The standard course now requires ten hours, down from eighteen, while the advanced course requires sixteen hours. Age limits stay the same. Andrew Kesler, who has been seriously ill, is slowly improving.

Child dies in accidental house fire after clothing caught by flame
Last Wednesday a 5-year-old son of Tom Ollinger was left alone briefly. he wore only a nightgown and lit a match that set his garment ablaze. He died that night. Also reported: L. G. Archer brought two 18 inch alligators to his son. A depot and store were burned at Weat Union. A well drilling operation on the Whitson farm was halted after tools stuck in the drill. after repositioning, drilling continued to nearly 500 feet before another jam.
