Centennial Parade Main Feature at Paris Celebration
Paris marked its centennial with a 3 o clock Wednesday parade led by Buglers Jack Mopps Elbert Bogart and the Paris band of 24. Floats showcased local businesses and organizations while outside bands and corps joined the procession. A 700 cast pageant depicted Edgar county history and the week closed with a Twin Lakes picnic and free dance followed by a band concert.

The eight day old Charlene TM Priscilla Pine of Wabash township died Monday and was buried Tuesday in Macke cemetery. George Strohm of Anderson township, age 60, died Thursday and funeral services were held Saturday with Rev. Bert Eckel officiating and interment in Ziegler cemetery. A ten year old girl, daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Terrell of Claraville, fell from a bridge Friday, injuring her ankle and foot with a deep gash.

Harry Prust and Frank Bennett of West Union were brought to Paris Tuesday and each posted 2000 bond for appearances before the federal grand jury. Prust’s car was seized as part of the bond. A Marshall wreck injured Harry Reely Ernest Cropp Huey Hornbrook on the Parish road north of Marshall Tuesday night around 10. They were taken to a nearby farmhouse for care.
