Clark County Supervisors Meet Vacant Salary Vote and Approvals

The Clark County Board of Supervisors held an October session with all members present. They approved September minutes, allowed a horse trough installation by the Historical Society, debated a deputy and secretary raise, adopted a contract award, approved an audit, and continued the meeting to November 6 at 9 a.m.

Heart Association Meeting Reports Cardiovascular Advances

The American Heart Association will hold its Scientific Sessions from October 20 to 22 at San Francisco Civic Auditorium. More than 6 000 physicians scientists and lay leaders will attend as 307 original papers on cardiovascular progress are presented. An Illinois delegation will participate.

School Board Finalizes Contractors Payment At 90 Percent

The board approved paying contractors 90 percent of funds due and withheld 10 percent until final acceptance on October 26 for the new elementary school. Transportation reports show 1034 of about 1800 students are bused, while facilities updates include completed seedings and a binder coat of blacktop for playgrounds and parking.

Marshall Rams capture state junior high baseball title

The eighty member Marshall marching band led by Drum Major Lynn Macke traveled to Terre Haute to take part in Indiana State University homecoming activities.
