Frank W Greenough and Miss Lucy Shaw united in marriage last Thursday morning at the bride’s north Sixth street home. The ceremony at 1100 a m was officiated by Rev D W English, an uncle of the bride, with relatives and close friends present. The bride wore lingerie and lilies of the valley bouquet. After breakfast the couple left by auto for Terre Haute then train to Colorado for a cottage stay. The couple are noted as popular young Marshall residents with many friends offering congratulations.

City Council Brief Session On Monday Evening
The city council met in a brief session. Robert Thompson sought permission to build scales on West Main Street near the Big Four track and was granted. BB E Howell asking for a salary increase to 65 dollars per month was granted unanimously. City Marshal Davis reported two arrests and three dogs killed in September. Mayor Hurst said eastern creditors remitted about 500 dollars interest on recently issued city bonds. After routine reports and bill approvals, the council adjourned.

No Hickory Street Sewer Bid Rejected

Gas Explosion Harms Three Workmen on Second Street
Three workmen Fred Gagen Otto Slusser and Michael Miller were burned when a gas explosion occurred in a newly completed sewer on Second Street.
