Ralph, 82, a former inmate of Terre Haute federal prison who robbed a Homer Illinois bank in 1954, struck again. He allegedly robbed the Standard Service Station at Weatfield taking tires, fluids, a jack, and a lug wrench. He was arrested in Charleston Sunday, jailed in Clark County, bond set at 5000, and is in Sheriff Pearce’s custody.

James R Burnett died last Saturday morning at Union Hospital in Terre Haute at age 85. A Marshall prominent figure, he led the Dulaney National Bank as chairman of the Board of Directors since 1896. He leaves two sons, a daughter, a sister, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday at Moore Funeral Home with Rev Louis Miller presiding. burial in Marshall cemetery.

Senator Lyons Dies in Oakland After Short Illness
State Senator Robert W. Lyons aged 78 died Friday night at Community Memorial hospital Charleston after a brief illness. He served 16 years in the Legislature for the 34th district covering Clark Coles Douglas and Cumberland counties and ran a Oakland lumber business for 50 years. He was a Coles County supervisor for 10 years and longtime president of the Oakland Board of Education. Funeral services were held Monday at Taber Funeral Home Oakland.
