Forty years ago on a Thursday we traveled to Martinsville by No 1. We met Johnny Bair at the depot who guided us uptown. In the town we called on Williams and Ross and noted Harry Ross, Williams’ partner. H C Howell was busy in his harness shop. We spoke with Vesta Kelly and Billy Hammerly at the restaurant. At the St Nicholas Allen Tyler showed efficient management. We visited Jerry Ishler, Martinsville correspondent of the Express. John O Bri st bought out JH Brown the butcher, moving to Morton brick next to A G Dow’s if space allows. John Miller erected a new shed for buggies in the wagon yard.

G G Gillespie of Marshall, an extra telegraph operator, has his setter Webb entered in the National field trials to be held at West Baden Indiana from November 23 to 29. The four trophies are valued at 1000 dollars and entries come from across the United States Canada and some from Europe. Webb has won at bench shows since whelped June 20 1923 and at all field meets.

Milk Condensory Has Good Sales at Marshall Co
The Marshall Milk and Cream Co reports a satisfactory first quarter. Dawkins sold product up to October while shifting from ice cream to other goods for winter. They produce sweetened condensed milk from skim milk, require 10 to 12 days per carload, and have shipped four carloads to Chicago. They received 1000 new shipping cans and plan to test an air cooled condensing pan in Michigan. The secretary thanks farmers for milk supply and looks to next season with encouragement.
