Indirect Injuries Highlighted In Atomic Attack Plans
Dr Simeone of Cleveland told the American Medical Association council that half to three quarters of atomic blast casualties will suffer injuries not caused by the bomb. He cited mechanical wounds from debris and glass, burns and radiation effects, and noted most injuries need only first aid. He warned of mass casualty management during early chaos and referenced the Texas City blast where many required hospitalization.
