Mrs Otto Hoen former Miss Haith Hurst of this city died suddenly of heart failure at her Indianapolis home Sunday and was buried there yesterday. She leaves a husband and a child about two weeks old. Mayor Seymour Hurst attended the funeral.
W D Oday of Neoga who recently ran against Joe Cannon for the congressional nomination gave the office a worthless check for printing. It now appears this was not his first such incident in the city, according to the Martinsville Planet.

Mrs Rhoda Abred died Monday at age 92 in Marshall at the home of her daughter Mrs William Ogden. Funeral at the family residence on West Locust Street with Rev C E Taylor. interment in Ogden cemetery. Born Randolph County North Carolina March 24 1820. Married 1837 to Absalom Alred. Surviving children five Riley Alred Elgared Jesse Alred Clemons Alred and Mary M Ogden. English and Scotch parentage and lifelong Friends Church member.
The funeral for Wm L Jaco was held last Saturday in a Livingston church with Rev. C Taylor officiating. Born April 6 1837 in Covington Kentucky he died May 8 1912 after a life of service including three years in the Civil War and baptism at Livingston in 1897. He leaves a brother J R Jaco in Martinsville a sister in Los Angeles and two daughters Lyman Daniela and Anne in Marshall.
