Victory Loan Day Brings Air Show and Tank Exhibit to Marshall
Friday and Saturday in Marshall were filled with Victory Loan events. Lieut Fagley piloted a Curtis biplane visiting the aviary field south of town with loops and stunts while Miss Margaret Shaw and others enjoyed rides. The Whippet military tank from the 345th Tank Corps showcased battlefield gear, with spectators riding the vehicle near Sol Handy farm. Judge Booth and Capt Arthur Poorman addressed crowds, and a bond stunt by Hazel Geisert raised 21,500 dollars as the Marshall Band played and good weather accompanied the lively fundraiser.

May day party at Marshall Club raises funds for community work
The Matinee Musicale hosted a May day afternoon in the Marshall Club rooms with Mrs J K Kerr in charge. Decorations included crepe streamers a May pole and spring flowers. Taylor Gresham and Edward C Taylor wed in Paris home
Miss Bertha Gresham daughter of Mr and Mrs Louis Gresham and Edward C Taylor of Paris married at the bride’s home last Wednesday evening. The ceremony was performed by the pastor of the Methodist colored church at Paris in front of about twenty guests. The bride wore white net a veil of tulle and carried white roses and carnations. A wedding supper followed. Mr Taylor recently returned from France where wounded in active service and will attend a government school. The couple will visit relatives in Paris for several days. Red Men Will Dedicate New Hall on May 15. Sagamore Kapps of Chicago will be the guest speaker. The tribe may adopt new members for $6.50. Readings were held last Monday night.

The Big Community Sing Opens Saturdays on the Square

Murdered for Worthless Wife in Frankfort Heights
Benton Illinois dispatch dated April 30 reports Bird Lee son of Rev R W Lee shot and killed Carl Pierce on the streets of Frankfort Heights. Lee killed Pierce after spotting him with his runaway wife who had returned with Pierce. Lee shot Pierce three times from a running board as his wife rode away. Lee is brother of Rev I W Lee formerly of Marshall Baptist church.

Mrs Edith Osborne Dies at 18 in Wabash Township
Mrs Edith Osborne died at her home in Wabash township on Monday from tuberculosis at age 18 years and one month. Funeral services will be held at Livingston today.

Last Great Wabash Boats at New Harmony Landing
The New Harmony Register recalls the Commonwealth and the Commercial as the last great side wheel steamers to visit New Harmony Indiana in the mid 1870s. A free excursion drew about 160 townsfolk who enjoyed music dancing and bars aboard until a midnight landing near West Street. A cable across the path caused guests to stumble as water stood twenty five feet deep at the shore. Mrs Lo Col and Mrs F W Booth left for Chicago for a week-long visit.
