Runaway Horse Causes Injury To Abel Children
Ruth and Russell Abel, high school students from south of Marshall, were slightly injured Friday evening when the horse they were driving bolted after being frightened by roller skaters. The buggy overturned near Robert Geiert’s home. both children suffered cuts from shattered glass and were treated at home. George Meehling captured the horse a short distance away.

Jennings Loses Relative In West Frankfort Tornado
Charles Deaton brother in law of M Jennings of this city was killed in the West Frankfort tornado last Tuesday. A miner he died when a large timber struck the back of his head while working atop the mine. He leaves a wife and three children. Mrs Deaton is Jennings sister. Jennings left Friday to attend the funeral.

Correction issued on Walter Douglas case indictment
An apology notes previous error about Walter Douglas. He was indicted by the last circuit court grand jury on a concealed weapons charge dated March 1, 1924. The case advanced to county court for June term but released on bond of 500 dollars posted by Douglas and Lawrence Rhoads.

Two Prisoners Escape From County Jail
Fred Remlinger and Cecil Lowe escaped from the county jail around 6 PM. Neighbors say an outside accomplice supplied a key to unlock the outer door, then the pair fled in a Ford car, abandoned it at Vic Reynolds place on West Main, and possibly disappeared on foot or in another vehicle. Sheriff Turner was delayed. surrounding towns alerted as efforts to recapture them continue. Lowe faced 1 to 14 years for assault with intent to rob. Remlinger was en route to Pontiac to serve a sentence and had been brought to Marshall to testify.

Woman Dies, Husband Injured in Carmi Tornado
