Terre Haute officers arrested B F Bennett of Weatfield on a warrant after an indictment for issuing a worthless check for 14 dollars. Deputies Ferreira and Parway said he was intoxicated when writing the check missing the Westfield bank name. He was released on 500 dollar bond.

M. R. Newman died June 16 1915 at his York home aged 74. Born February 22 1841 in Virginia he served four years as a Confederate soldier with the 1 %th Virginia Infantry. Survived by wife Alice Daugherty and four children, three living. He was widely known as honest and charitable.
