Martha A Wright known as Mrs Austin Gray died at her home in Marshall after a long illness at age 55 years nine months Funeral services were held at the family residence Rev A D Davis conducted the service She was born Sept 8 1855 in Marshall Her father Joseph Wright once county sheriff built and owned the Marshall Hotel He died young leaving a widow and three children all deceased She lived with her mother in later life a longtime clerk in local stores and was a 30 year member of the Congregational church She married Austin Gray on Nov 6 1895 and left no near relatives besides her husband

Train crew arrests suspect in murder case then releases
Last Friday a Big Four train crew wired Marshal Davis to meet their train at the depot and arrest a negro on board believed to have murdered Mr Carmel Musseler recently. The marshal and Deputy Sheriff Forbeck met the train and arrested the dark man, but he did not match the murderer described in the reward notice of $600 and was allowed to go.

Death of Melrose Township Man Due to Heart Disease
Thomas M. Walker of Melrose township was found dead in bed by family last Saturday. Coroner Howell held an inquest and ruled death from heart disease, the subject of his ailment. He was about 70 and survived by four children.

Trainmen’s refusal to wait for Vandallan connection caused some delays for Martinsville riders. Robert Wallace son of Joseph and Mary Wallace born June 3 1878 died June 23 1911 aged 38 years 20 days. He married Nancy Ethel Davis at Livingston Michigan December 16 1900. They had three children Ruth Opal and Clarence. His wife died July 25 1910. He leaves three brothers two sisters and many relatives. He joined Freedom Baptist Church June 19 1911. Funeral by Rev L G Fasig at Auburn with burial nearby June 24.
