Word comes of the death of Greenough K. Lycan of Calypspell Montana on June 4. He left Dolson township twelve years ago for Montana. His wife was a sister of Quincy Snedeker of Marshall and Ed Beadle is his nephew. Funeral and burial held in Montana.

The Marshell Chamber of Commerce elected officers for the coming year at a Tuesday noon meeting at the American Cafe. New member Charles Bubeck replaces John Cane as head of retail sales, with Fred Keifer as president and Chas Claypool as vice president. Other officers include EBID Morton treasurer Sol Handy director of agricultural affairs Albert Sockler organization affairs H M Dewey industrial affairs C M Bubbeck retail affairs and C R Johnson financial affairs. The tourist park is reported to be self sustaining and dues payments are largely current. Twenty Years Ago Lively Girl Gathering Near Town
Miss Eva Honderich hosted a Monday night gathering at her grandmother’s home one mile west of town. Local girls rode in a large wagon and enjoyed ice cream and cake then woke early for breakfast at seven. The group included Wiss Curl and Miss In law of Peris among others. Paris club faced Terre Haute in baseball with the town in high spirits as residents prepared for a move to Indianaola.

Two Men Near Miss in Narrow Farm Lightning Strike

Marshall Boy Sails for Philippines on Wednesday
Word from Mr and Mrs Harry Dulaney in California says their son Robert Dulaney sailed Wednesday for the Philippine Islands. The Dulaneys had planned to accompany him to Honolulu but were redirected when the polo team moved to Idaho. Upon reaching San Francisco they learned Robert had been transferred back and would depart for the Philippines.
