Lightning Strikes Barn Injuring Two Men Near Town
On a recent electrical storm John Ashworth and Jack Knight sought shelter in a barn three miles north of town. Lightning struck the barn as rain began, shocking both men into unconsciousness. They recovered with burns to arms and shoulders and no lasting injuries. the barn did not catch fire.

County Supervisors Deny New Issues In Meeting
The county board held a routine session this week with no major new business. Semi annual officer reports were read and approved. Rules were reaffirmed after a debate led by Mr. Pearce. Printing bids were rejected and officers urged to source printing within a set price schedule. Election judges were appointed and juror list presented. A $200 appropriation was set for the Martinsville fair.
