Man Shot and Dies After Train Confrontation in Marshall
A man described as George Moore of Collinsville was shot Friday night at 10 16 after being ordered off a Big Four freight train in Marshall. Deputy Sheriff and States Attorney Clements returned fire as the assailant drew a pistol, Moore died at Mitchell’s office from a head wound. A coroner’s inquest found Moore died resisting arrest. officials involved were cleared. A mysterious bottle containing nitro glycerine drew further curiosity after the incident.

The body of William F Bohn aged 20 years 9 months died of pneumonia in France October 6 1918 was brought home at his mother's request Mrs Emma Bohn. It arrived at Hoboken two weeks earlier with 800 others and reached Marshall Monday evening. The funeral was held at 11:00 this morning at the mother’s home eight miles south of Marshall. Burial occurred in Darwin cemetery with the American Legion in charge.
