Community notes and forestry tips from rural column
Omer Medsker and family spent Sunday evening with Andy Sanders and wife Carey Miller visiting ste school EN Te mand Gene Arbuckle and write and.Mar shall Shotts helped Ben Miller's with their butchering Saturday. Under the new Indians Seed law seed cannot be paid by anyone including farmer growers if it contains any primary noxious weed seeds. Primary noxious weeds are Canada thistle field bindweed perennial sow thistle Johnson grass quackgrass and wild garlic. Trees grow best in volume between 10 and 20 inches diameter. Clear cutting to 10 inches removes good producers. Improve the woods this winter and remove inferior mature and diseased trees. Leave a thick border around woods edges to keep out wind and provide cover for wildlife. Farm families should estimate income and expenses for the coming year to aid financial planning.
