Mrs. Oliver Draper died suddenly February 14 near Hatton from heart trouble. Survived by son Ovie and husband Oliver Draper. Funeral at home with Eld. T. J. Wheeler, burial at Draper cemetery. Red Cross reorganizes with Clark County Chapter to include Casey Martinsville Westfield and West Union. officers named and Chicago office cutback in effect March 1. Independent of Marshall defeats Casey high in basketball 96 to 8. notes on declining straw votes due to broom prices.
Mrs. Bertha Carpenter receives an $18 monthly mother's pension for four children. Mrs. Kate Irwin of Marshall is declared insane by the county court and committed to the state hospital at Anna.
The only spring contested office in Marshall township is supervisor. Other townships scheduling supervisor elections include Anderson Auburn Douglas Johnson Parker Westfield and York.
Judge and Mrs. Everett Connelly announce the birth of their first son last Thursday. The baby has been named George Franklin and is welcomed by family and friends.
The Household Science Club holds a Saturday meeting at 2 30 PM in the high school building. The program includes Education of Women by Margaret Shaw Great Women of Today Mrs Handy and a cream puff demonstration by Mabel Osborne.

Mrs Clifton Clough of near Snyder died February 20 1919 after a long illness at age 40. Born Nettie B Poorman September 4 1878 she married Clifton Clough November 29 1896. Survived by husband parents Jno and Eliza Poorman two brothers three sisters and many relatives. Funeral held at her home east of Snyder conducted by Rev W H Stephens with burial in Brick Cemetery.
Harry M Janney traveled to St Louis to locate stepson John R Patton who had worked for Leslie Judge Publishing in Indianapolis. The coroner listed heart disease as the cause. Patton 42, survived by wife in Indianapolis and mother Mrs Janney. Body to be moved to Indianapolis or Marshall.
Farm Bureau to host discussions on profitable farming at the courthouse Thursday and Farm Bureau office Friday led by Illinois University Farm Management staff. Sessions titled schools offer forenoon and afternoon work with diplomas as farm accounts and inventories. Office day is Saturday March 1.

Mary Louise Coryell born York April 13 1895 died February 19 1919 on a Texas train en route to her husband. She joined the M E church at York at 16 and married Vern Jones July 24 1914. They had daughter Catherine Ruth now two years four months. Survived by husband, daughter, parents M A and Fannie Coryell, four brothers, three sisters and many relatives. Funeral at York M E church Friday at 2 30 pm conducted by Rev W H Stephens, burial York cemetery.
