Evansville Ind Miss Carrie Frederick 38 was burned when her dress ignited while she adjusted a kitchen stove pipe. She ran to the barn where neighbors stripped burning clothing from her body. She left a father Louis Fredericks an engineer on the C and E I railroad and a sister Mrs Edward Kloser.

A district carnival after the Ob Long Marshall game drew a record crowd with Miss Sylvia Ritter crowned carnival queen at 10 30 pm after receiving 4732 votes while Augusta O Neal gained 4730. About 110 was collected from the game and 325 from carnival attractions. Net funds will cover expenses. festival labeled financially successful.

Deaths in Marshall: Miss Abbie Burnsides 41 and Augustus Colvin 76
Miss Abbie Burnsides of Marshall died at home at 41. Funeral at the Methodist church with Rev. J. B. Evans officiating and burial in Marshall cemetery. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Burnsides, all three having died in four months. Augustus Colvin of South Tenth street Marshall died Tuesday at 76. Funeral services Thursday with burial in Ohio cemetery.

American Legion Fiddlers Contest At Pythian Theatre
An old fiddlers contest under the American Legion of Marshall drew a large Friday night crowd at the Pythian Theatre. Door receipts were about 200 dollars with a net gain near 100 dollars. Prizes were donated by local Marshall merchants. Bud Cromwell's orchestra of Terre Haute performed a half hour set that delighted the audience.

Four in Jail for Stealing Two Cars in Indiana
Four men from Columbus Ohio Mabel Dunlap James Dunlap Harry Vickers and Fred Delay are jailed in Marshall awaiting transfer to Indianapolis on auto theft charges. They first stole a Ford coupe in Indianapolis Sunday then, fuel depleted east of Marshall, used a stalled Ford touring owned by Walter Termain of West Union and parked by the Christian church. Sheriff Turner captured them in Marshall and jailed them.

Fire at Guinnips draws Marshall department response
The Marshall fire department was called Tuesday night to a residence in south west town occupied by Fred Guinnip. A laundry outbuilding heated by an overheated boiler caught fire causing about 200 dollars damage to the building and the machinery. Water had to be used from a distance to prevent explosion risk.
