Farm Bureau Clark Service Annual Meeting

Sydney Vargas and William Tingley announced the Clark County Farm Bureau and Clark Service Company annual meeting set for February 20 at 7 p m in Martinsville high school gym. Reports on last year’s operations will be shared. Henry Schriver will speak on Cows Kids and Coops, promoting do it yourself America and cooperatives. Free bacon and door prizes will be offered to attendees.

WTHI Channel 10 Terre Haute will air a 30 minute documentary about the Burnsides Home in Marshall on February 19 at 7 00 p m. The program features Helen Ryan and Harry Fry presenting the convalescing home’s new look to the Wabash Valley audience.

Captain James Platt Dies in Spokane Washington

Captain James Platt age 29 died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Spokane Washington on Saturday February 1. He was born in Elkhart Indiana to Harold and Mrs Platt of Eagle Lake Edwardsburg Michigan. He married Carole Manhart on June 27 1957 in South Bend Indiana and is survived by his wife two sons William Dudley and James Brent, his parents, and his Indiana University background. He served as a B 52 pilot and was a member of S A C and Trinity Methodist Church.

Fawley Stevens Wedding Reported in Decatur

Evansville Engineer Plays Role in Echo II Launch

John M. Thole of Evansville, son of Mrs. Jane Thole, contributed the inflation system for the Echo II satellite balloon. A Naval Ordinance Laboratory veteran, he helped lead a Goddard Space Flight Center team that designed Echo II and oversaw its ascent from Van denberg Air Force Base.
