Adam M Scott died January 31 1916 at his Melrose township home after a long life near his boyhood home. He was born September 16 1840 in Licking County Ohio and married Sophia Mitchell March 19 1868. Survived by wife three children eight grandchildren eight siblings and many relatives. Funeral February 4 at home with burial Lindley Cemetery near West Union.

Engineer Frank Lancaster and fireman Oliver Hazelton perished when Big Four passenger train No 43 sank after the Vincennes branch bridge failed on the Indiana side of the Wabash River. High water caused the bridge to give way as the engine crossed. The rest of the train stayed on the rails after the coupling broke.
The sun eclipse on Thursday morning proved dis spirited with little sun obscured by the lunar shadow. Observers using smoked glass saw the lower disc obscured like a cookie with a bite missing, aided by almanac information.
Mrs. Almira M Cowden Elston, born November 8, 1841 in War tinsville, died January 31, 1916 at her Marshall home after a long Clark County life. She married John C Elston on September 22, 1863 and had eight children, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, plus many relatives. Funeral services were held at home Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev FE G Sandmeyer.
Edward Garwood learns of his cousin James M. Garwood death in Augusta on December 6 from typhoid fever. Born Newton, he spent most of life in Augusta as a leading businessman and farmer. He headed the First Trust and Savings Bank of Augusta and served 40 years in the Christian church. Survived by wife and two daughters, one a high school principal in Augusta.

The Evangelical Association lists morning services at Immanuel Grard Turny church and evening at Zoncite Creek church. In Our Mar hall church a Sunday gathering starts at 9:30 AM with prayers. An inquiry session is set for Tuesday at 7:15 PM. Leo J Ehrhardt, pastor, is urged to attend.

James Barnes died suddenly Sunday at his son A G Barnes’s home on First Street. Death was caused by a carbuncle on the back of the neck. Barnes had lived in Marshall only about two months and was nearly 79. He is survived by three sons and one daughter. The body was taken to his former home at Paragon, Indiana for burial.
Mrs Elliott wife of Rev A F Hott former pastor of the Congregational church of Marshall died January 16 in Barberton hospital after a surgical operation. The family is well remembered by older residents of Marshall.
Randall Nidey Randall Prevo, born April 17, 1914, youngest child of Ed and Clara Nidey, died February 1, 1916 after a brief sickness. Survived by parents, one brother, three sisters, and many relatives. Funeral services held at Bellif church February 3, conducted by Eld. W. P. Cham ness, interment in adjoining cemetery.

He vanished after a warrant for assault and battery, allegedly kidnapping a boy, Ballano's son, who was rescued by a local resident. Authorities suspect a degenerate scammer named Frank C Carr.
