Clark County Farmer Dies at Home Near Darwin
J. W. Hartzler aged 62 died at his home south of Darwin after a four week illness. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p m Tuesday with burial in Brick cemetery. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Holler Hartzler and four daughters Mrs Elmer Horner of Indianapolis and Mesdames Edith Had Dix Anna Thompson and Louise Finkhiner. A lifelong Clark County resident he had been active in civic affairs.

William Hamel of Mattoon and four other University of Illinois students were injured when an automobile they rode in collided with another car near Watseka on Sunday morning. Hamel remained in Illinois hospital at Watseka for treatment with four peers treated for cuts and bruises and sent on their way by train.
