Death of Oscar Mackey at Oliver after brief illness
Oscar E Mackey, 32, died Sunday evening at his father John H Mackey's home in Oliver after a short illness. Born in Clark County September 1863 and long resident of Folvar County, he ran the Oliver telephone exchange for years. His efficient, cheerful life earned many friends and he was affiliated with the Modern Woodmen.

Death of a Former Marshall Resident
Oliver Perry Liston died December 9 at his Beatrice Nebraska home at age 60. He was a former Big Four station agent in Marshall and married Elizabeth Killie in Marshall. two daughters survived him but preceded him in death. Liston had been an invalid for many years, and tuberculosis and kidney disease caused his death. funeral services were held in Oakland.

Gas Company Settles Damages From October Explosion
The Wabash Gas Company on Monday settled claims from the October 6 gas explosion that destroyed the Marshall Motor salesroom and killed Aaron Jones Edward Huston and Robert Slusser. Heirs receive 4000 for Jones 1100 for Huston and 850 for Slusser. Murder charges remain though likely not pressed except possibly against Butler the resident manager.
