Gasoline tax plan urged to finish Illinois road system

Governor Len Small and officials Miller Sheets urge a two cent per gallon gasoline tax to fund completion of the state road program. The letter argues tax revenues, plus unsold bonds and federal aid, could speed the 9800 mile system, finishing by 1933 or earlier, and link about 160 municipalities. The note emphasizes fairness to motorists and warns against diverting gas revenues to other uses.
