Choctaw Ninth Annual Homecoming Held With Music and Talks
Choctaw hosted its ninth annual homecoming on Sunday August 23 with a 52 foot noon table of foods. An afternoon program featured songs prayers and recitations by local volunteers and students led by Perry Jackson and Tom Carpenter. Officers elected were Buell Morris president and Maude Blizgard secretary treasurer.

Two Cars Damaged In Sunday Wreck At Dixie Hotel Corner
A Buick from Springfield and a Moon from Terre Haute Ind collided at the National Dixie Hotel corner Sunday morning about 6 30. Both cars carried several occupants but injuries were minor. The Buick went into a ditch and occupants were thrown onto the sidewalk while the Moon suffered heavy damage to one side.

Sale at Washburn Farm Attracts Buyers
At the Washburn farm three miles west of Marshall the sale drew a good crowd. Macklin and Knowles auctioneered stock hogs at 20c a pound, milk cows 65 to 75 dollars each, sheep 12 years old at 11 dollars per head, and timothy hay 13.50 a ton.

Men Arrested in Vandalia for Chicken Theft
B. B. Cooper and Harry Hargest were arrested Thursday in Vandalia and jailed on charges of stealing chickens. Stanley Blackburn is in Marshall jail and is said to be implicated with the pair. The trio allegedly stole fowls across the county and state, including from the Stockwell farm near Marshall and the Whitney farm in Casey.
