Questions and Answers On Service To Veterans Training
Veterans may qualify under Public Law 16 if they served after September 16, 1940 and were discharged or released under honorable conditions. They must have a service related disability payable by the VA or would be but for retirement pay, and need rehabilitation to overcome it. Training location depends on objectives. on the job training in the veteran’s home community when possible, institutional training near residence, or at accredited colleges. Maintenance during training is through increased pension: single $92, married $103.50, plus $5.75 per dependent child and $11.50 per dependent parent. Tuition, books, supplies and equipment are provided. The VA determines entitlement and notifies the veteran at the time disability pension is awarded.

Man Killed by Lightning Found on Junker Farm
An unidentified man was found dead on Ernest Junker’s Darwin township farm after a Wednesday storm. Junker found the body about a half mile from his house near a large hickory tree where the man sheltered. The deceased is later identified as Clyde Higgins from north of Dennison.
