Committee of Seventeen plan could reshape Clark County farming
Clark County farmers show direct interest in ratifying the Committee of Seventeen grain marketing plan. It envisions farmers marketing their own wheat and corn via their elevators and a national sales agency to stabilize markets and aid both growers and consumers. Illinois IA A and U.S. Grain Growers Inc. would organize as a non profit with directors Mudge Eckhardt and Clark guiding implementation. Outcome hinges on local grower cooperation and rapid adoption.
