City reports eight auto accidents in Marlon area
Monday night city commissioners removed the traffic cop post and on Tuesday Marlon saw eight automobile accidents with damage over two thousand dollars. Accidents ranged from minor fender benders to cars burning and serious damage. Notable incidents include A B Alsbrook backing into D Younkins car with both wheels off and minor damage and Atkinson Bakery’s truck colliding with Arch Iven’s Ford at North Market and Union streets. both vehicles damaged and towed, with no injuries reported for Ralph Carter or Mr Ivey.

Mrs Cantrell Called by Death in Goreville
Mrs. Julia Ann Cantrell widow of Dudley Cantrell died at her home on route 1 Goreville on Monday. Funeral held at Moulob cemetery Tuesday at 1 pm. City commissioners attended the continued public hearing on Marion sewerage disposal plant. A. B. McLaren heads the Marion committee which inspected both Marion and Springfield plants. Funeral for Aged Pastor Ambrose Held in Vienna
