Wind topples Lowe building wall at noon
Northern Lowe building wall collapsed shortly after noon as gusts from the south increased danger after a Monday fire. Three men narrowly escaped injury as the wall fell in a heap in the street alley. A horse and buggy passed moments earlier, and only a few minutes before, two men stood under the wall in a tailor shop. The Market Street berth area was closed until the debris could be cleared.

Obituary Notice for Mrs. J M Smith in St Louis
The body of Mrs. J M Smith died at her daughter's home in St Louis noon Wednesday was transported there for interment beside her husband. Her two sons John and Bert Smith and daughter Ida Readon reside in East St Louis Illinois. The body was escorted from Marion by several relatives and the interment was at Mt Hope Cemetery in East St Louis.
