First Marriage License Issued in 1921 at Cambria
Early Saturday Frank Lovel of Cambria secured the first marriage license of 1921 in County Clerk Seabey's office. The license was for his marriage to Ana Painter, also of Cambria. A wanted ad titled Girl for house work appeared for Mrs. Otley A. Monroe at 600 South Van Buren Street.

Noisy Entrance for New Year in Marion
The old year ended with loud celebrations in Marion as bells rang and firearms boomed to greet 1921. The Elks held their annual South Market Street dance while First National Peak sectors closed 1920 with prosperity, declaring extra dividends and a ten percent employee bonus. Golconda Herald note: Charles M. Dugger and Pearl Tucker, and William Bowman and Willy Boles obtained marriage licenses last week.

Death of Enoch W. Yates Known as Uncle Bud
Enoch W. Yates died at 3:30 a.m. Friday December 31 1920 at his home 60% North Garfield Street aged 69 a native of Texas and longtime Marion resident. He is survived by his widow and two children Henry and Maggie Yates. Funeral services were held January 1 at 38 p.m. from the home with burial in Zion Cemetery, Ozark Johnson County.

Will Return With Prisoner Walter Boyd
Walter Boyd, arrered Friday by Sheriff Thaxton and Chief Vinson, will be returned to St. Louis Saturday to stand trial for complicity in a robbery there last Tuesday night. Policeman Oscar C. Friede arrived Saturday morning and plans to leave on the neon train with his prisoner. The St. Louis police hold strong evidence of Boyd s connection, while Diyd denies the charge and will explain in St. Louis after waiving extradition papers.
