Funeral services were held Monday at 1216 North Van Buren for Mrs. Clara Helen Ramsey widow of Rob ert Ramsey who died Saturday morning. Commemorative United States postage stamps celebrate the Pilgrims landing and the Mayflower voyage. Denominations include one cent green with the Mayflower, two cent red of Plymouth Rock, and five cent blue showing the signing of the Mayflower Compact. Dates 1620 and 1920 appear on the stamps. Death claims S. W. Foster of Goreville aged 79
S. W. Foster, father of Mrs. C. S. Cole of Marion, died about midnight Tuesday at Goreville after years of illness. Born in Missouri in 1842, he was a Civil War veteran and longtime farmer who later moved to Goreville. Survived by his widow, Mrs. Foster, and two children Asa W. Foster and Mrs. Cole. Funeral Friday at Friendship Church at 10 a.m. with burial in Friendship Cemetery.
