Lujan seeks runoff after Precinct One recount request

Absentee ballots count swells for Marfa special election
Absentee voting closed Tuesday at 5 p.m. with about 116 ballots cast. City secretary Shelagh Abbott noted the unusually large number and said results will be announced Saturday after regular polls close. Marfa to Hold Second Public Hearing on CD Grant
The City of Marfa sets the second public hearing for 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall to discuss the federal Community Development funds application. A prior May 22 meeting gathered four city election candidates including incumbent Sandra Holzheuser. A workshop precedes the hearing at 7 p.m. Monday, also at City Hall, ahead of a final vote on the application due to the Texas Department of Community Affairs by June 20.
