Postoffice to Close Sundays Under House Amendment
Postmaster G N Stille reports an amendment to the postoffice appropriation bill, backed by the Republican leader, ordering all first and second class post offices and smaller town offices to close from midnight Saturday to midnight Sunday. Mail pickup for lockbox patrons is banned, and newspapers mailed on Sunday will be delayed until Monday. No class of mail is exempt.
